Note: This is an advanced technique - for those people who want to do 3 way link exchanges. It's not a recommended option unless you have a team of employers working for you who can be taught to do this.

Orkut is a social site like Yahoo or MSN groups, but owned by Google.

Technique I am about to explain requires ONE free Google account. With that account you can use Orkut and Gmail (which is Google's email client).

Get your free Google account... and continue below.

Visit Orkut at http://www.orkut.com and create your profile. More you add in your profile the better... so if you have a picture upload it too. These things connect you more with other people. This can be fun. So anyway, what you need to do then is visit Orkut Communities related to SEO.

Find them, there are some communities related to link exchanges specifically... join those there should be a lot of them.

There you can put in your request for a link exchange. Tell them you have a website and are looking to exchange links, etc. In no time you'll start getting messages in your Orkut homepage from other people who want to exchange links with you.

Of course you can also spend more time and participate in these communites by replying to other requests - not just posting yours.

But the best thing is yet to come:

Then login to Gmail after some time and turn chat on. You will see there are many new contacts that want to chat with you. You can approve all of them, since you'll have to approve who may chat with you, who may not.

On Orkut there are many link builders, if you join with a Gmail account they will chat with you very often.

So automatically you have lifelong link exchange partners. Now, many of these will want to do 3 Way Link Exchanges. I only recommend you do that if you know the right way to do this type of link building.

Pretty easy, there is NO big secret. This cannot be done with Yahoo Groups, etc. On Orkut they will simple invite you for a chat even if you just post a message in this board..

In my experience no one added me to msn or yahoo messengers. It's difficult if they do not have the messengers installed. Too much work.

With Gmail chat, they do not need any software. Just login to Gmail and chat from there. That's the BIG difference.

And YES, you can also start your own community on Orkut. That's a great way to be able to post what you want, anytime you want. You create the RULES. I like that!!

Again this technique is out of the box, may not be the best way to get link exchanges, but it's one of the methods you can test for yourself. We all have likes and dislikes, you may like this method more than anything else... check it out!
